Once you add up the benefits of hiring remote workers, I think HR departments will quite readily stop hiring and classifying those same people as independent contractors, with no benefits in most cases. So yeah, we get to compete with the entire Earth, and, at least in the US, get shafted on insurance. Hmmm, companies have more power. Again.
